Dibra, the Natural Pearl along the Black Drin
Krahina e Dibrësshtrihet në verilindje të Shqipërisë në kufi me Maqedoninë e Veriut. Kryeqendra e saj është qyteti i Peshkopisë, mbi brigjet e lumit Drini i Zi. Dibra ndodhet në dy anët e luginës së Drinit të Zi duke u kufizuar në lindje nga vargmali i Korabit dhe në perëndim nga vargmalet e Lurës, 185 km larg kryeqytetit Tiranë. Në afërsi të Peshkopisë ndodhet mali më i lartë i Shqipërisë, Mali i Korabit me një lartësi prej 2,751 m mbi nivelin e detit, pjesë e Parkut Kombëtar Natyror Korab – Koritnik, një nga destinacionet turistike më të bukura të Shqipërisë.
Nëse keni dëgjuar shpesh të flitet për liqenet akullnajore të Lurës, në veri të Dibrës; apo llixhat termale; të gjitha këto bukuri natyrore i gjeni në Peshkopi. Në Parkun Kombëtar të Lurës do të magjepseni nga peizazhet përrallore e piktoreske, si dhe të vizitoni burimeve e llixhave, pyjet e shumta dhe sidomos liqenet, të cilat janë një perlë e vërtetë e natyrës, ekoturizmit dhe biodiversitetit.
Ujërat kurativë e termalë të Peshkopisë shtrihen rreth dy kilometra në lindje të qytetit, dhe janë një ndër atraksionet shëndetësore më të kërkuara. Pasuritë hidrike kanë ndihmuar në zhvillimin ekonomik të rrethit, si në energji, ujitje, peshkim, apo industri.
Destinacione për të mos u humbur në krahinën e Dibrës janë: brigjet e lumit Drini i Zi me luginën dhe kanionet magjepsës, fantastike për sportet e aventurës dhe rafting; mali dhe Bjeshka e Gramës e njohur si margaritari i kurorës turistike të Dibrës përplot me pyje e kullota alpine; fshatin Kërçisht pranë ballkonit natyror të Maqellarës bashkë me monumentet e kultit dhe kalanë e Grezhdanit; fshatin turistik të gurtë të Rabdishtit, një nga 100 fshatrat turistikë të Shqipërisë; bjeshkët e Hinoskës; parkun agroturistik të Begjunecit, si dhe muzeun kushtuar Skënderbeut dhe familjes së Kastriotëve, dhe muzeun e Dibrës.

The region of Dibra extends in the northeast of Albania, bordering North Macedonia. Its capital is the city of Peshkopi, situated along the banks of the Black Drin river. Dibra is located on both sides of the Black Drin valley, bordered to the east by the Korab mountain range and to the west by the Lura mountain range, 185 km from the capital Tirana. Near Peshkopi lies the highest mountain in Albania, Mount Korab, with an altitude of 2,751 meters above sea level, part of the Korab-Koritnik National Park, one of Albania’s most beautiful tourist destinations.
If you’ve often heard about the glacial lakes of Lura, to the north of Dibra, or the thermal springs, all these natural beauties can be found in Peshkopi. In Lura National Park, you will be enchanted by dreamlike and picturesque landscapes and visit sources and springs, numerous forests, and especially the lakes, which are a true pearl of nature, ecotourism, and biodiversity.
The curative and thermal waters of Peshkopi stretch about two kilometers east of the city and are one of the most sought-after health attractions. Hydric riches have aided in the economic development of the area, in energy, irrigation, fishing, or industry.
Must-visit destinations in the Dibra region include: the banks of the Black Drin river with its valley and captivating canyons, fantastic for adventure sports and rafting; the mountain and Grama Meadows known as the jewel of Dibra’s tourist crown, filled with forests and alpine pastures; the village of Kërçisht near the natural balcony of Maqellara along with cult monuments and Grezhdan Castle; the stone tourist village of Rabdisht, one of Albania’s 100 tourist villages; the mountains of Hinoska; the agrotourism park of Begjunec, as well as the museum dedicated to Skanderbeg and the Kastrioti family, and the Dibra museum.
