Albania: A Rising Hotspot for Hungarian Tourists

The Director General of the National Tourism Agency, Ms. Zana Çela, met with the Ambassador of Hungary to Albania, Ms. Martina Kasnyik, to discuss opportunities for further cooperation in promoting Albanian tourism to Hungarian citizens.
Over 50,000 Hungarian tourists visited Albania from January to October 2024, a 16% increase from the previous year. Improved airlines connections, tourist packages, accommodation, culture, history, and natural experiences have contributed to this growth in Hungarian visitors.
Ms. Çela presented the Albanian government’s vision to develop year-round tourism by 2030, which will include continued infrastructure improvements and major projects like ports and airports to support the tourism sector. The Hungarian ambassador confirmed the growing interest of Hungarian citizens to visit Albania not just in summer, but also in the winter season.
To serve Hungarian, international, and local tourists, Albania has also launched the digital events calendar, TEA.
