"The Tropoja Dance" has been officially declared part of the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

On its official website, UNESCO describes the values of this dance as follows.
“The dance of Tropoja, Albania”
In Albania, k'cimi is a festive folk dance performed at spontaneous parties or during traditional ceremonies and celebrations. Dancers perform face to face, making jerky movements and raising and lowering their arms as they move around each other, without touching. Depending on the occasion, traditional clothing may be worn. K'cimi is traditionally practiced by the Tropojë people and is associated with spring festivals, mountain landscapes and the flight of eagles – a symbol of strength and collective identity.
The nomination form for the "Tropoja Prize" for the "Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity" was submitted in March 2021.
