The flows of foreign visitors increase during April 2024

The influx of foreign visitors surged in April 2024, with approximately 800,000 tourists exploring our country during that month alone. This spike contributes to a total of 2.3 million incoming tourists during the initial months of 2024, marking a significant 38% increase compared to the previous year, as reported by Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, citing the latest MTM statistics.

Ms. Kumbaro highlighted the intensive collaboration between her institution, public entities, and the private sector to manage these high volumes efficiently, ensuring a smooth transition into the summer tourist season. The focus remains on prioritizing safety, cleanliness, and elevating service standards for sustainable development.

According to MTM data, Albania welcomed 794 thousand foreign visitors in April 2024 alone, contributing to the robust influx of tourists totaling over 2.3 million in the country for the first four months of the year.

Earlier, during the Tourism Safety Conference, Minister Kumbaro disclosed updated figures, indicating more than 110 certified maritime tourism operators and over 600 certified tourist guides. The momentum continues, with Albania hosting over 1.7 million foreign tourists during the initial three months of 2024, representing a notable 59% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
