Building Bridges: The Future of Egypt-Albania Tourism

The Director General of the National Tourism Agency, Ms. Zana Çela, met today with H.E. Hassan Shawky, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Tirana. Their discussion centred on enhancing collaboration in tourism promotion between Egypt and Albania, focusing on the exchange of experiences and the potential for joint projects.
During the meeting, Director General Çela shared insights into the National Tourism Agency’s promotional efforts. She also highlighted the Albanian Government’s vision for tourism by 2030, which includes significant investments in infrastructure, the development of quality and sustainable tourism, and initiatives aimed at extending the tourist season. These elements are foundational for ensuring sustainable economic growth.
Director Çela suggested building cooperative links with the Egyptian Tourism Authority (ETA), which is responsible for tourism promotion in Egypt. In response, Ambassador Shawky expressed a desire to establish effective mechanisms to further enrich tourism relations between the two nations.
“The relationship with Albania is significant for us, as Albania has been an important contributor to the establishment of the modern Egyptian state. Thus, further developing our ties and attracting more Egyptian investors to Albania is a priority,” the Ambassador noted.
