The Director General of the National Tourism Agency, Ms. Zana Çela, and the Ambassador of the European Union to Albania, Mr. Silvio Gonzato, held a meeting today on the exchange of ideas and perspectives for the development and promotion of tourism.
The Director General of the AKT presented the Ambassador with an overview of the achievements of 2024 in the promotion of Albania’s tourism.
“I appreciate the joint commitment to foster sustainable growth in this vital sector and hope for further cooperation in the future”, said Ms. Çela.
EU Ambassador Gonzato welcomed a cooperation project presented by the Director General of the AKT, Ms. Çela, in the framework of the promotion of Albanian tourism throughout Europe.
Within the framework of the National Tourism Strategy, Ambassador Gonzato expressed interest in the changes that the National Tourism Agency will have and specifically on its operating procedures that are foreseen in the strategy.
The conversation also focused on Albania’s expectations and presentation at the world’s largest tourism fair – ITB Berlin 2025, where Albania for the first time holds the important role as a “host country”.
