Twenty-four tour operators and representatives from the Hungarian Association of Travel Agencies were recently welcomed by the National Tourism Agency in Tirana. During this gathering, Ms. Zana Çela, the Director General of the National Tourism Agency, showcased Albania as an exciting and evolving tourist destination.
“Albania, situated in the heart of the Balkans, offers a captivating blend of adventure, culture, and relaxation. With direct and short flights from Hungary, it’s a wonderful opportunity for tour operators and travelers to explore what we have to offer. Our tourism sector has successfully expanded throughout the year and across the entire country. The Albanian government’s vision extends beyond mere economic growth; it emphasizes the development of high-end tourism. Focus areas include enhancing infrastructure, sustainability, and tackling seasonal challenges. Our legislation actively promotes private investment, attracting leading international hospitality brands. We deeply appreciate your interest and hope this visit cultivates new partnerships and opportunities in tourism. Together, we aim to promote Albania and deliver unforgettable experiences for your clients,” emphasized Ms. Çela.
In her welcoming remarks, the Hungarian Ambassador to Albania, Ms. Martina Kasnyik, highlighted the increasing number of Hungarian visitors to Albania. “In 2024 alone, approximately 60,000 Hungarian citizens visited Albania. Our tour operators are here to explore the offerings of this beautiful country,” noted the Ambassador.
Albania was presented in multiple aspects to Hungarian tourism professionals, bringing to light its stunning natural destinations, rich heritage, vibrant culture, and unique folklore. The presentation included a virtual journey showcasing Albania’s beauty through VR glasses, enhancing the overall experience.
The Hungarian tour operators were introduced to the TEA Application, the most comprehensive digital guide to Albania’s tourism. The main attractions in our country captured their attention and sparked their curiosity.
Adding charm to the event, students from the Ballet School, led by Director Blerina Arbana, performed traditional Albanian dances. This visit marked a significant milestone, as it was the first time such a large group of tour operators from Hungary came to Albania.
