Prime Minister Rama: Albania Welcomes 11.7 Million Foreign Visitors in 2024

Prime Minister Edi Rama has shared exciting news regarding the influx of foreign visitors to Albania in 2024, with a remarkable total of 11.7 million—an impressive increase of 15.2% compared to 2023.

In a joint announcement with Mirela Kumbaro, the Minister of Tourism and Environment, the Prime Minister expressed that this achievement marks 2024 as a record year. The Prime Minister highlights that Albania is no longer just a fleeting curiosity, but has solidified its position for sustainable growth by offering unique experiences in all its flavors and sensations.

“The consolidation of Western European markets such as Italy, Germany, France, Spain or Britain, in addition to the growth from countries in the region and the approach of visitors from distant Asian and American markets, coupled with the extraordinary impact on the economy such as the 3.8 billion euros generated by tourism in just 9 months of 2024 or the increase in the standards of accommodation structures are the best indicators of the vision that is becoming reality, the prestigious promotion and the good experiences created year after year,” Prime Minister Rama noted.

Recent statistics reveal that December alone witnessed 654 thousand foreign visitors, reflecting a 6.1% increase over the previous year.
