Greeting Speech of the General Director of the National Tourism Agency, Zana Çela, at the Award Ceremony of the International Photography and Video Reels Competition “Wanderlust in Albania”.
Dear ambassadors, representatives of the diplomatic corps, distinguished leaders of state institutions, banking and tourism industry executives, dear artists, and honored guests!
It is an honor and pleasure for me, on behalf of the National Tourism Agency, to welcome you to the gala evening of the International Photography and Video reels Competition, “Wanderlust in Albania.”
This competition, now in its second edition, marks a new chapter for our tourism: Albania is no longer a hidden gem. It has become a source of inspiration that is being shared and experienced globally.
The wide participation with contestants from 37 countries across five continents shows us not only that interest in Albania is growing rapidly, but also that international engagement in promoting our country is deepening, through the eyes, lenses, and stories of those who have experienced touristic Albania firsthand.
Hundreds of photographers and videographers, both professional and amateur, have submitted over 5,050 images, moments, emotions, and unique perspectives, that reflect the authenticity, beauty, and hospitality of Albania, as well as our rich history and culture.
This was our main goal: beyond official statements and statistics that sometimes provoke skepticism, we aimed to use the power of visual art as a means of promoting Albania as a tourist destination. Through captivating photos and video reels created by the most authentic storytellers, the visitors themselves, tonight and moving forward, we will present an unfiltered and visually documented narrative of Albania’s tourism.
Tonight, we are not just here to hand out awards; we are here to celebrate the power of tourism to build bridges, bring cultures closer, and tell Albania’s story through new, digital-age methods.
Thank you to all the participants who, through their lens, have become contributors and ambassadors of promoting touristic Albania. Thank you, dear friends, for your presence and support on this promotional journey toward an Albania that is seen, appreciated, and loved by the whole world.
