The Drin River is the longest and largest river in Albania, with a total length of 335 kilometers. It plays a crucial role in the economic development of northern Albania, especially due to the hydropower system, which includes some of the most important hydroelectric power plants in the country. The Drin River originates from the source of Saint Naum and its course passes through Lake Ohrid in the form of a snake to the city of Struga, which the river divides into two parts.
