Gashi River

The Gashi River is one of two Albanian natural reserves included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is located in the Valbona National Park, in the northeast of the Albanian Alps. The valley is characterized by virgin beech forests and an extraordinary biodiversity. Near the river are the glacial lakes of Dobërdol and Sylbica, which give the area a fairy-tale atmosphere. It is one of the wonders of Albanian nature, suitable for exploration, hiking and biodiversity studies.
