Çela: Development of digital tourism and authenticity as pillars of tourism sustainability

"Authenticity and the development of digital tourism will ensure the sustainability of tourism in the coming years."

This was stated by the Director General of the National Tourism Agency, Ms. Zana Çela, at the panel "The Role of the Diaspora in the Development of Tourism", during the second day of the 4th Diaspora Summit in Tirana on April 15, 2026.

Ms. Çela emphasized that Albania is currently experiencing a very important moment in its tourism development. Albania has everything to be a long-term success story in tourism. Our task is to tell this story in the right way – with pride, with vision and with an approach that makes it understandable and attractive to the world. She underlined that the National Tourism Agency has played a key role in promoting our country to the world, focusing on the authenticity of Albania, as well as through an integrated promotion package, which includes both traditional and digital elements.

In this context, the Director General of AKT described the TEA application as a "dynamic concentrate" of the Albanian tourism offer, condensed into a single application.

Albania, said Çela, has everything to be a long-term success story in tourism. Our task is to tell this story in the right way – with pride, with vision, and with an approach that makes it understandable and attractive to the world.
