Albanian ethnography constitutes one of the most precious treasures of national identity, a wealth inherited from generation to generation that summarizes the way of life, beliefs, art, feelings and values of the Albanian people. It is a living reflection of the cultural history of the country, where the unique coexistence between tradition and the popular creative spirit clearly appears.
Albanian tradition is unique in its kind, as it includes elements of Illyrian, Byzantine, Ottoman and Balkan civilizations, obtained in a completely authentic form. Folk costumes are revealed as a code of regional identity; songs and dances carry the spiritual memory of communities; while woodwork, silver and textiles are expressions of the rare craftsmanship that has characterized the Albanian people.
Ethnography is not simply a chapter of culture, but the foundation of the Albanian character, a bridge that connects the past with the present and transmits our heritage to future generations.
