Albania was successfully represented at the “Wine Vision 2024” Fair held from 22/24 November 2024 in Belgrade. Under the leadership of the National Tourism Agency, Albania's presentation was dignified and very successful not only in terms of presenting the Albanian spirit of wine production among 38 countries of Southeast Europe, but also in terms of content.
"Confluence of Culture" was the theme of Albania's presentation stand, located alongside North Macedonia and Serbia, based on cooperation between countries in the region.
On the first day of the Fair, the opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ms. Anila Denaj, the Director General of the National Tourism Agency, Ms. Zana Çela, and the Ambassador of Albania to Albania, Mr. Bardhyl Canaj, who closely visited the stands of Albanian businesses participating in this fair.
With the primary aim of promoting sustainable tourism, the General Director of the National Tourism Agency, Ms. Zana Çela, signed important Memorandums of Cooperation with the directors of sister agencies of Serbia and North Macedonia.
The first Memorandum of Cooperation was signed at a special ceremony on the second day of the Summer Fair by the Director General of AKT, Ms. Zana Cela and the Director of the National Tourism Organization of Serbia, Ms. Marija Labovic.
In her statement to the media, the Director General of AKT underlined:
"We have agreed to work together to ensure sustainable tourism throughout the year in mountainous areas and national parks. In the main aspects of this memorandum, both our tourism agencies will develop and promote tourism products for Albanian and Serbian tourists."
The main directions of this memorandum will be:
1) Sharing information and events
– Exchange of information regarding tourism promotion events (exhibitions, fairs, seminars, etc.)
2) Marketing and Advertising
– Exchange of experience in implementing marketing strategies
– Exchange of tourism statistics
3)Quality improvement
– Exchange of experience in improving the quality of services and infrastructure in tourism
4)Media and Communication
– Media representative exchange and information trips
5)Collaborations in Projects
– Exchange projects funded by the European Union on green policy and tourism
6)Education and professional development
– Establishing contacts with educational institutions engaged in training professional staff.
7)Networking and Partnerships
– Establishing contacts with various organizations and companies operating in the field of tourism in our two countries.”
On the third and last day of the "Wine Vision 2024" Fair, the second Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by the General Director of the National Tourism Agency, Ms. Zana Çela, and the Director of the Agency for the Promotion and Support of Tourism of the Republic of North Macedonia, Ms. Biljana Stefanoska.
This Memorandum of Cooperation aims to initiate and strengthen interactions in joint regional tourism developments.
The agreement brings together the agencies' efforts to work towards promoting sustainable year-round tourism in mountain areas and national parks.
During the "Wine Vision 2024" Fair, the National Tourism Agency and Albanian enterprises were presented with their stands among over 650 stands from different countries of Southeast Europe, where various varieties of wine and other culinary food products were presented.
