Albania has been declared the country of honor at the world's largest trade fair, ITB Berlin 2025.
The agreement was signed in Tirana by the Ministry of Tourism and Environment and the leaders of ITB Berlin. In the memorandum of understanding between the two parties signed in Germany by the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Environment Vilma Bello and the Executive Director of “ITB Berlin” Debora Rothe, Albania was officially approved as the country of honor for the most important tourism fair in the world for 2025.
It was the Minister of Tourism and Environment herself, Ms. Mirela Kumbaro, who in July of this year spoke about Albania's ambition and the start of negotiations with the German side to reach this agreement, which turns our country into the center of the most important global meeting point for tourism and tour operators, held every year in Berlin.
This agreement aims to strengthen Albania's role not only at the participant level, but also in the active undertaking of organizing high-level agendas of important global events such as ITB Berlin, which promote Albania's image internationally. The promotion program starts in March 2024 and ends in March 2025.
In 2024, Albania will participate in the FITUR tourism fair in Madrid, in ITB Berlin 2024, and will also be the organizer of the 70th meeting of the World Tourism Organization's Commission for Europe, which will take place in the spring of 2024 in Tirana with the participation of 40 European tourism ministers.
