Albania ranks 6th in the world, with 4.83 international tourists per capita, according to an analysis published by Voronoi, Visual Capitalist's platform specializing in data visualization and analysis.
The study is based on the latest UN Tourism data, combined with population statistics from the World Bank, and shows that Albania is now among the countries where the number of visitors significantly exceeds the number of residents.
This result reflects the extraordinary growth of Albanian tourism in recent years. From a little-known destination, Albania has transformed into one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in Europe, thanks to its coastline, cultural heritage, natural landscapes and growing interest from international visitors.
This development establishes tourism as one of the most important sectors of the Albanian economy and confirms the country's positioning on the global tourism map.
