The National Tourism Agency, in support of the status of the institution approved by the Council of Ministers No. 20, dated 18.01.2023 "On an amendment to Decision No. 298, dated 20.04.2016 "On the organization and functioning of the National Tourism Agency", the structure and organizational structure of the institution approved by Order of the Prime Minister No. 175, dated 09.12.2016, as amended, announces a vacancy for the position of Director, Directorate of Projects and Priority Areas for Tourism Development, category III-1.

  • General job description
  1. Sets objectives, plans the activities of the directorate and ensures that the activities are in accordance with legislation and national policies and strategies in the field of tourism.
  2. It ensures the monitoring and implementation of policies and strategies in the field of tourism and their implementation through "Projects", as well as the promotion of investments in Priority Areas for Tourism Development, with the aim of achieving objectives and priorities in the field of tourism.
  3. Coordinates the activities of the directorate, instructs and transmits tasks and orders to the specialists under his/her command, for the implementation of "Projects", in all phases; preparation, application, monitoring of work progress during their implementation, relations with donors and partners, etc., with the aim of promoting the country as a tourist destination.
  4. Coordinates the activities of the directorate, instructs and transmits tasks and orders to the specialists under his/her command, for the management of "Existing Lease Agreements" and "Development Agreements", related to the "Incentive Person" entities, in relation to (1) Fulfillment of criteria; (2) Collection of revenues, in order to achieve objectives.
  5. Drafts information materials, provides recommendations and effective solutions for the management of issues related to "Projects", as well as the management and promotion of investments in Priority Tourism Development Areas, in fulfillment of the institution's mission.
  6. Ensures cooperation with project partners, "Stimulated Person" entities, Associations of tour operators, hoteliers, restaurants, NGOs, foundations and foreign organizations, central institutions, Local Self-Government Units, independent organizations, other directorates/sectors within the agency, in order to improve the work of the Directorate/Institution.
  7. Represents the Directorate/National Tourism Agency in relations with third parties and participates in various national and international activities, working groups, committees, etc., for the fulfillment of the duties of the job position, as well as when specifically assigned by superiors.
  8. Performs and implements the obligations arising from Law No. 152/2013, dated 30.05.2013 "On Civil Servants", and the legislation in force, regarding; "Setting Objectives", "Work Evaluation" and "Professional Development" for the specialists under his/her command, as well as proposes measures to improve the situation when deemed necessary, in order to increase the performance of the specialists under his/her command.

EDUCATION: To have completed higher studies, Master of Science in one of the branches of Economics, Law or Social Sciences.

Type of work experience:

  1. Over 5 years of professional work experience.
  2. Have work experience in designing and implementing projects, especially with donors.
  3. Have experience in organizing events with the participation of various actors.

  7. Photocopy of the Work Booklet (all pages that prove work experience).
  • Field of knowledge
  1. Knowledge of Law No. 93/2015 "On Tourism", as amended.
  2. DCM No. 298, dated 20.04.2016 "On the organization and functioning of the National Tourism Agency", as amended.
  3. Knowledge of Law No. 43/2016, “On International Agreements in the Republic of Albania”
  4. Knowledge of Law No. 65/2022, “On the ratification of the financial framework partnership agreement between the Republic of Albania, represented by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania, and the European Commission on the specific rules for the implementation of EU financial assistance to the Republic of Albania, under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA III)”;
  5. Knowledge of Law No. 162, dated 23.12.2020 "On Public Procurement"
  6. Law no. 9125 dated 29.07.2003 “Labor Code of the Republic of Albania”

We inform all interested parties that on the date 27.09.2023 at 1100 An interview will be held at the AKT institution for the vacant position of Director, Directorate of Projects and Priority Areas for Tourism Development.

The selection of the winning candidate will be done through a competition with files and direct interviews.

At the conclusion of the candidate evaluation, the Human Resources Unit at AKT will notify them individually electronically of the results (via e-mail address) and will announce the winners on the official AKT website.
