Director of the Tourism Promotion Directorate
The National Tourism Agency (NTA), in implementation of:
Law no. 7961, dated 12.07.1995 “Labor Code of the Republic of Albania”, as amended; Law no. 44/2015 “Code of Administrative Procedures of the Republic of Albania”; Law no. 90, dated 27.09.2012 “On the organization and functioning of the state administration”; Council of Ministers no. 20, dated 18.01.2023 “On an amendment to Decision no. 298, dated 20.04.2016, on the organization and functioning of the National Tourism Agency; Prime Minister's Order No. 205, dated 05.11.2025 "On the approval of the structure and organizational structure of the National Tourism Agency" (entered with our no. 498/1 prot, dated 07.11.2025); Decision no. 11, dated 15.01.2026 “On some amendments and additions to Decision no. 191, dated 09.03.2016, of the Council of Ministers, on the creation of the state database for the employment services system”; Internal Regulation “On the organization and functioning of the AKT”, announces the opening of 1 (one) vacant position for the position: Director at the Directorate of Tourism Promotion Salary category: II-1
I. CONDITIONS THAT THE CANDIDATE MUST FULFILL
A. General Conditions
Candidates must meet all of the following conditions:
- Have Albanian citizenship;
- To enjoy full capacity to act;
- To enjoy moral and professional integrity;
- Be able to work;
- Not have been convicted by a final court decision for intentionally committing a crime or criminal offense;
- Not have been deprived of the right to exercise his/her duties in public administration by a final court decision;
- Not have been dismissed from the public administration for disciplinary violations and not have a serious disciplinary measure in force according to the Labor Code;
- There should be no conflict of interest with the task or function to be performed.
B. Special Requirements
Candidates must also meet the following specific requirements:
- Have completed higher education in economic sciences;
- Have excellent written and spoken communication skills in Albanian;
- Be proficient in Albanian and English spelling (level B2 or above);
- Have organizational skills and carry out work efficiently, effectively and within deadlines;
- To know and apply the rules of ethics and professional conduct in public administration.
II. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of the Tourism Promotion Directorate performs the following duties and bears the following responsibilities:
- Implements the national strategy for sustainable tourism development and the action plan, with the aim of continuously enhancing and improving the country's tourist image;
- Drafts, develops and implements the annual marketing plan, which is submitted to the General Director for approval, in function of promoting Albanian tourism at national and international level;
- Proposes and organizes participation in international and national fairs, "Fam Trip" and "Press Trip", workshops and conferences, as well as other forms of promotion of Albanian tourist destinations;
- Implements promotional activities according to the institution's regulations and proposes promotional, informative and statistical materials in accordance with the needs and trends of the tourism market;
- Supervises and ensures timely coverage of promotional spaces in electronic and print media; oversees the production of new promotional spots and advertisements;
- Leads and implements the digital marketing strategy with the aim of increasing the number of tourists through the promotion of tourist destinations and products;
- Cooperates with regional tourism offices, local government, tourist operators, Albanian diplomatic missions abroad, and local and foreign organizations, with the aim of promoting tourism and attracting visitors;
- Manages and updates online promotion activity through the official portal, social networks and digital channels;
- Performs any other duties assigned by the Director General, within the scope of responsibilities of the AKT.
III. REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
Interested candidates submit the application request to the AKT Protocol Office, within the announced deadline, accompanied by the following documentation:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) completed in Albanian, according to the standards of Albanian legislation, and a motivation letter;
- Notarized copy of the diploma. For diplomas obtained outside the Republic of Albania, the equivalence from the Ministry of Education must be attached;
- Notarized grade list;
- Photocopy of work record (all pages that prove work experience);
- Photocopy of identity card (ID);
- Health certificate;
- Self-declaration of judicial status / Proof of criminal record;
- Any other documentation that proves the training, qualifications, additional education or positive evaluations mentioned in the resume.
Failure to submit documentation on time and in full will automatically result in the candidate's disqualification.
IV. METHOD AND DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION

*Initially, this position is offered to internal employees. If it is not filled by them, AKT may accept candidacies from outside the institution.
V. EVALUATION AND SELECTION PROCESS
- After the deadline, the Human Resources Unit verifies the submitted documentation.
- Candidates who meet the required criteria will be notified via e-mail of the date and time of the structured oral interview.
- The selection of the winning candidate will be done through a competition with a dossier and a direct interview.
- At the end of the evaluation process, the Human Resources Unit will individually notify each candidate electronically and will announce the winner on the official AKT website (www.akt.gov.al).
