Përlat and Prosek are among the earliest inhabited villages in Mirdita, known as prominent Illyrian settlements. In the 15th century, these areas constituted one of the most important centers of the Dukagjini princes, contemporaries of Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg, playing a special role in the medieval history of Albania.
Their hilly territory is characterized by a rich biodiversity, where nature, culture and tradition naturally intertwine with today's life. The traditional 3 and 4-story towers represent a precious architectural heritage and are a testament to the resilience and craftsmanship of the area's inhabitants.
The villages offer good opportunities for nature tourism.
