Sazan Island is located at the entrance to the Gulf of Vlora and is the largest island in Albania. For many years it was a closed military area, but today it is open to visitors and is part of the Karaburun–Sazan Marine Park. Sazan has a wild and untouched nature, with Mediterranean vegetation and clean beaches. Inside the island are the remains of a military base, tunnels and buildings from the Cold War period, which make it an interesting place for exploration and history. Trips to Sazan are made by tourist boats from Vlora, and a visit to the island offers a mix of nature, history and adventure.
