Commercial Street

The Commercial Street, known today as Epidamn Boulevard, is one of the most unique historical and architectural attractions of the city of Durrës. It was built after the 1926 earthquake, marking the beginning of a modern urban plan according to European principles, which transformed the city and made it a dynamic coastal center. The boulevard extends about 300 meters from the port towards Liria Square and the Roman Amphitheater, and is characterized by two-three-story buildings with architectural decor from the 30s–40s, where the ground floors served as shops and commerce, while the upper floors were for housing, which gave it its historical name.

Today the boulevard brings a fascinating mix of past and present: palm-lined sidewalks, cafes, traditional shops, hotels and restaurants, making it a lively meeting point for visitors and locals.. A walk along Epidamn Boulevard is like a journey through time in the heart of Durrës, where historic buildings and lively pedestrian spaces create a perfect atmosphere for unique photography, relaxation, and cultural discovery.
