If you are a nature and mountain adventure lover, the Bishnicë – Lukovës Lakes trail is one of the most beautiful and untouched destinations in Albania! A nature hike of around 3.5 hours, along a 7.3 km long trail, that takes you to the two stunning Lukovës lakes – located in a spectacular glacial cirque, at an altitude of over 1700 m above sea level.
The Great Lake (6.3 ha, 1851 m) and the Small Lake (3.7 ha, 1706 m) are Natural Monuments and part of a protected area (Category III – IUCN). Their waters are crystal clear, cold and rich in alpine biodiversity. In winter, they are covered with snow, creating a fabulous view.
The drive from Pogradec to the village of Bishnicë takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes (61 km), and then the hike to the lakes begins. This trail is ideal for nature and photography lovers, who seek tranquility, fresh air and magnificent landscapes away from the urban noise.
