Before the 90s, Balgjaj was one of the most frequented tourist destinations, mainly on weekends, by school students, residents of the areas surrounding the Mati district and neighboring Dibra, employees of agricultural cooperatives and various economic development enterprises in Mati and beyond.
This area has been under constant attention and selected by researchers and scientists from universities and scientific institutions. They came to Balgjaj for 1 or 2 days, but after getting to know the rare beauties and natural values of this ecosystem, they wanted to stay for weeks, and maybe even months, to relax and study this area.
