Hiking on this trail offers amazing views, forests and some fantastic glacial lakes. Valamara is a mountain where the Shkumbini River originates. This mountain serves as a dividing line between three cities: Pogradec, Maliq and Gramsh in Albania. There are some amazing glacial lakes in the area, there are pine forests and Bosnian pine forests. The distance is about 71 km from the center of Pogradec.
The highest peak of this mountain is 2373 m above sea level which is the destination of this trail. The distance to the top of Valamara is 64 km which can be covered by car in about 2 hours and 30 minutes and another 7 km is a hiking trail in about 3 hours and 30 minutes, walking in nature with a level of difficulty. The best season to do this tour is in the summer season.
