The Orikum Lagoon is located on the coast of the Gulf of Vlora, near the town of Orikum, and is included in the managed protection area of Karaburun.. The area is considered an Important Bird Area (IBA), thanks to the large presence of migratory birds such as terns, great egrets and grey herons. The area supports a rich biodiversity of eels, barnacles and molluscs. Migratory birds use the lagoon for food and shelter during the spring-winter migration seasons.
Some of the activities that visitors can do during their visit are:
Bird watching with binoculars, especially in spring and autumn when there is bird migration.
Walking and taking photos along the coast, where you can experience the feeling of a natural oasis near the mountains and the sea
Historical visit: near the lagoon are the ruins of the ancient city of Orikum, one of the most important centers in antiquity
