Orikum lagoon

The Orikum Lagoon is located on the coast of the Gulf of Vlora, near the town of Orikum, and is included in the managed protection area of ​​Karaburun.. The area is considered an Important Bird Area (IBA), thanks to the large presence of migratory birds such as terns, great egrets and grey herons. The area supports a rich biodiversity of eels, barnacles and molluscs. Migratory birds use the lagoon for food and shelter during the spring-winter migration seasons.
