Karaburun–Sazan National Marine Park

The Karaburun–Sazan National Marine Park is one of the most important natural and touristic coastal areas of Albania, located in the southwestern tip of the country, encompassing the island of Sazan and the Bay of Karaburun. The park extends over a large marine and terrestrial area, including rocky shores, bays, steep slopes and the clear waters of the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. It is characterized by a rich biodiversity, with marine and terrestrial flora and fauna, including rare species of birds, fish and other protected animals.

The Karaburun–Sazan National Marine Park offers numerous opportunities for ecological, adventure and recreational tourism. Visitors can explore hidden caves and bays, practice water sports such as diving and snorkeling, and enjoy magnificent seascapes. In addition to its natural values, the area also has historical and cultural significance, including remains of military fortifications and objects from the Roman and Ottoman periods, which make the park a special destination for combined nature-culture tourism.
