The Balloll Managed Nature Reserve is one of the protected areas of great natural value in the Berat Region. It encompasses the slopes of Mount Tërpan, with rare limestone formations and hills that offer lush green scenery and untouched nature for exploration.
The territory is characterized by a combination of Mediterranean oak and pine forests, dense shrubs and grasslands, ideal for hiking, photography and nature walks. Here you can enjoy vast hilly landscapes, fresh air and a peaceful atmosphere away from the noisy cities.
Biodiversity is one of Ballolli's main attractions: The reserve is home to a variety of wild species such as wild boar, rabbits, foxes, wolves, roe deer and wild cats, as well as many small and medium-sized birds that live in the forest and hilly environments.
For birdwatchers and nature lovers, the territory is also interesting for various ornithological species such as the black-footed booby, the tern, the grebe and the Syrian tern, turning the reserve into a valuable point for ecotourism and educational nature trips.
The reserve was declared a “managed nature reserve” in 2022 and is managed by the National Agency for Protected Areas (AKZM), aiming to protect biodiversity and natural services such as forest habitats and ecosystems of the area. For visitors, Ballolli offers an authentic natural experience, an opportunity to feel the peace of nature, the beauty of the hills and contact with the local flora and fauna.
