The Kaurit Cave is located in the territory of the Puka Municipality, in northern Albania, near the village of Kaurr, from which it takes its name. It is a rare karst formation, created by the erosion and dissolution of limestone rocks over millions of years.
The cave is characterized by numerous stalactites and stalagmites with interesting shapes, as well as a cool microclimate that remains stable throughout the year. In addition to its natural beauty, the Kaur Cave is also mentioned in folk tales and is part of the local identity of the Puka area, known for its mountainous relief and dense forests.
The Kaurri Cave has been declared a Natural Monument with high geomorphological, speleological and aesthetic values.
It represents one of the most important karst systems in northern Albania, being an important destination for nature tourism, scientific exploration and environmental education.
