Kakomë Bay is located on the southern coast of Albania, between Saranda and Himara, about 15 km north of the city of Saranda. It is one of the most protected and cleanest bays of the Albanian Riviera, surrounded by Mediterranean-green hills and crystal blue waters.
The natural shape of the bay, similar to an amphitheater open to the sea, creates a rare landscape view and a calm climate, with few winds and waves. The area is frequented for diving, swimming, sailing and ecological tourism, while its beach with fine sand and white stones is among the most untouched in the south of the country.
Nearby is the Monastery of Saint Mary of Kakom, a cultural monument with historical and architectural value that enriches the visitor's experience.
The Bay of Kakomë has been declared a Natural Monument for its coastal, geomorphological and ecological values. It represents a rare model of harmony between the sea and the Mediterranean mountainous relief, ranking among the destinations with high potential for sustainable tourism and landscape photography on the Albanian Riviera.
