Ismail Kadare's house, turned into a museum, is located in the historic Palorto neighborhood of Gjirokastra and represents a special place for fans of Albanian literature. The building, built in 1799 and declared a Cultural Monument in 1991, is the house where the writer was born and spent his childhood, described in his novel "Chronicle in Stone".
The museum exhibits original Kadare family objects, such as furniture, books and photographs, that reflect the author's early life and creative spirit. Today, this house-museum is a cultural landmark that connects the historical heritage of Gjirokastra with contemporary Albanian literature.
