The Historical Museum of Dibra, also known as the Bishopric Museum, is located in the city center, about 30 meters from the main boulevard. Housed in a two-story neoclassical building built in the 1930s, the museum is one of the most important cultural institutions in the region, reflecting the history, culture, and traditions of Dibra from the Neolithic period to the present day.
The Archaeology Pavilion exhibits objects dating from the early Neolithic to the Middle Ages, such as tools, weapons and pottery, which testify to the early life of the inhabitants of the area. The Ethnography Pavilion, the largest in the museum, is dedicated to the traditional life of Dibra, presenting barbecues, musical instruments, wooden and ceramic vessels, as well as folk costumes of men and women. Meanwhile, the History Pavilion focuses on prominent historical figures of the region, such as Iliaz Pashë Dibra and Haxhi Vehbi Dibra, as well as on the main events that have influenced the formation of local identity.
With its elegant architecture with columns and decorative elements, the museum building reflects the characteristic style of the 30s and provides a suitable environment for the exhibition of the historical heritage of Dibra. Today, this museum remains an important cultural and educational center, connecting visitors to the historical roots and rich spirit of this region.
