The Ethnographic Museum of Lezha is one of the most representative cultural institutions of the city, which preserves and presents the material and spiritual heritage of the Lezha region. It offers a rich panorama of the traditional life, customs and popular culture of the area, making it an important research and tourist point for the ethnographic history of northern Albania.
The museum has a collection of 843 original objects, which include folk clothing, household furnishings, traditional kitchen utensils, agricultural and livestock tools, musical instruments, and handcrafted weapons. These objects represent the lifestyle of the inhabitants of Lezha and the surrounding areas in different historical periods.
Currently, due to limited exhibition space, around 315 objects are on display for the public, while the rest are stored in the museum's warehouses. The permanent exhibition is designed to represent the cultural heritage of the three main ethnographic regions surrounding Lezha: Malësia e Madhe, Mirdita and Zadrima, giving the visitor a complete picture of the diversity and identity of this region.
One of the most attractive parts of the museum is the artisanal weapons pavilion, where highly crafted tools and weapons are exhibited, illustrating the early tradition of metalworking and martial arts of the area.
Today, the Ethnographic Museum of Lezha remains an important center for the preservation of folk culture, connecting generation after generation with the material and spiritual heritage of the region, making it a must-see stop for any visitor seeking to learn more about the identity and history of northern Albania.
