The General Director of the National Tourism Agency of Albania, Ms. Zana Çela, and the Director of the Swiss National Tourism Organization, Mr. Federico Sommaruga, signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of tourism at the headquarters of this organization in Zurich.
This memorandum of understanding comes within the framework of the idea that tourism is an important tool for expressing mutual goodwill and strengthening relations between our two peoples.
Seeing tourism as an important factor in the economic, cultural and social life of our two countries, Albania and Switzerland, the parties agreed to encourage cooperation for the sustainable development of tourism, which includes assistance in establishing contacts with relevant organizations, and in developing an approach for sustainable tourism throughout the year in mountainous areas and national parks,
This memorandum also provides assistance in the development and promotion of products for Albanian and Swiss tourists in cooperation with the local federation of tourist agencies responsible for supporting them abroad.
Director Zana Çela and Director Sommaruga also agreed to provide mutual information regarding exhibitions, congresses, fairs, various tourism events, as well as to cooperate on joint projects for the development of sustainable tourism.
The Memorandum between the National Tourism Agency and the National Tourism Organization in Switzerland was signed in the presence of the Ambassador of Albania to Switzerland, Mr. Ilir Gjoni.
