The MATKA International Tourism Fair, which takes place in Helsinki, Finland, one of the largest and most important fairs taking place in the Scandinavian countries from January 16-20, started yesterday. The National Tourism Agency participates with its staff and 8 tour operators, which operate with the Nordic market. In particular, the Finnish tourist market is known for its numerous outbound trips, thus presenting a very favorable opportunity to attract to Albania. The travel fair presents around 1,000 tour operators, travel destinations and tourism service companies from more than 80 countries each year. More than 50,000 consumers and almost 20,000 professionals from the tourism industry visit each year. During the past year, around 35 thousand Scandinavian tourists visited Albania, thus opening another chapter for Albanian Tourism. During the first day, there was a high interest from the public, the media and several meetings were held. The fair will last until January 20th and the number of visitors is expected to increase day by day.
