The Dibra Mountains are among the highest in Albania. They historically arose as a means of organizing resistance against the Ottoman Empire and served as a form of self-governing administration during that period. Regions that never submitted to the invaders were called “Mountains.” Initially, Dibra had seven “Mountains”: Reç e Dardhë, Çidhën, Luzni, Muhurr, Katër-Grykët, Gryka e Madhe, and Gryka e Vogël. Later, the Reç e Dardhë Mountains were divided, creating separate Reçit and Dardhës Mountains, and Gryka e Madhe was split into Gryka e Madhe and Bulqiza.
Korabi is the highest mountain in Albania. It is ideal for mountain hiking, starting from the top of Korabi, the tourist village of Radomira, the Korabi Plain, and Grama Mountain. Other points of interest include the Kaloshëve Stables, the tourist village of Rabdishti, Hinoska and Fidallarëve guesthouses, and Valivar on Mount Kërcini, as well as many natural and cultural attractions in the Maqellara area.
