Shën Kolli Church

The Church of Saint Kolli is located in the village of Perondi, in the Municipality of Kuçovë, and is one of the most important monuments of cultural and religious heritage in the Myzeqe area. It has been declared a Cultural Monument and represents a valuable testimony of Byzantine architecture in Albania.

The construction of the church dates back to the second half of the 11th century, and over the centuries it has undergone interventions and restorations that have preserved its function and historical values. The building is distinguished by its characteristic Byzantine architecture, with a cross-shaped plan with a dome, stone and brick construction, as well as decorative elements typical of the medieval period.

Inside, fragments of mural frescoes are preserved, which testify to the rich tradition of medieval Albanian church painting. In addition to its religious importance, the church constitutes a destination with historical, artistic and cultural values, attracting scholars, pilgrims and visitors interested in the country's cultural heritage.
