The National Tourism Agency, within the framework of the Albanian Presidency of the Central European Initiative (CEI) and the Tirana Presidency of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP), will organize on September 27 in Tirana, the International Conference "Tourism in Central and South-Eastern Europe - New Development Paths".
This Conference, with a focus on tourism development in Central and Southeastern Europe, aims to bring together industry leaders, academics and policymakers to share knowledge, experiences and propose solutions that would define the future of tourism in this region. By focusing on promotion, education and new tourism concepts, the conference aims to improve regional tourism practices and promote sustainable growth.
It will address the challenges faced by entities in this sector and stakeholders by offering innovative solutions to attract and engage tourists effectively. The conference will provide an opportunity to explore representative topics of the tourism sector in the region, as well as challenges in tourism promotion, tourism education and its impact on quality tourism services, as well as development beyond classical tourism. Exchange between countries in the region, exposure of different approaches and views, as well as challenges, are important for understanding and learning from each other's experiences, creating wider spaces for development and advancement in a regional framework.
Participants in this Conference will include representatives of the authorities responsible for tourism from the Central European Initiative countries, from the countries of the South-East European Cooperation Process, as well as from various institutions and entities in the field of tourism, education and business.
The conference program includes discussions in three panels:
Panel 1– Promoting the future: Innovative tools, good practices and challenges in promoting tourist destinations.
Panel 2 – Beyond classic tourism: The concept of expanding tourist packages brings the need for a stronger interdisciplinary approach in the tourism sector, increasing the impact on the economy.
Panel 3 – Educated tourism supports sustainable tourism: By responding to the demand of the tourism industry through improving the provision of education, we influence the standards of the sector and improve the use of resources.
The conference will be held at the Mak Albania Hotel, Iliria Hall 1.
