Lëkurës Castle is located about 2 km southeast of Saranda and is one of the most important historical monuments in southern Albania. Built in the 16th century during the Ottoman period, this castle served as a strategic point for the protection of the area and the control of the road to Butrint. The castle offers a wonderful panoramic view of the city of Saranda, the bay and the island of Corfu. Today, Lëkurës Castle is a tourist attraction that connects history with the natural beauties of this region.
