3-day tour Lezhë-Shkodër-Malësi e Madhe-Mirditë

The itinerary starts from Tirana towards Lezha, a city of particular historical and cultural importance for Albania. The visit begins with the Lezha Castle, one of the most important monuments of the city, located in a dominant position over the surrounding territory. The castle is closely associated with the period of Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg and the League of Lezha, while from this point a wide panorama opens up over the city and the fields of Zadrima, offering a clear understanding of the strategic role of the area over the centuries.

The program continues with a visit to the Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg Memorial, the place where the League of Lezha was formed and where the national hero is buried. The memorial complex represents a space of high historical and symbolic value, offering an educational experience on one of the fundamental moments of Albanian history.

Afterwards, a walk is planned in the historic center of Lezha, where buildings with traditional character, craft shops and an urban atmosphere create opportunities for getting to know local life, taking photos and taking short relaxing stops.

The itinerary continues towards the coastal area with a visit to Rana e Hedhun, a unique natural phenomenon consisting of large sand dunes that descend towards the sea, creating a unique natural landscape. The trip concludes with a walk in Shëngjin, where the coastal environment and the city's connection to the sea represent a beautiful contrast to the historical part of the day. Lunch includes traditional dishes based on fish, seafood and products from the Zadrima area.

The second day is dedicated to Shkodra, one of the most important cultural and historical centers of Northern Albania. The city has an ancient history and has served for centuries as a commercial, artistic and cultural hub, where Illyrian, Roman, Venetian and Ottoman influences are intertwined. Shkodra is also known for its role in the development of photography, music and Albanian art.

The program begins with an orientation walk in the city center, getting to know the urban atmosphere, pedestrian areas and cultural life. The visit continues to the Rozafa Castle, the symbolic monument of Shkodra, located on a strategic hill above the confluence of the Buna, Drin and Kir rivers. The castle offers a panoramic view of Lake Shkodra and the surrounding territory, while the legend of Rozafa and the historical stratifications give this stop a special cultural value.

Then, a visit to the National Museum of Photography “Marubi” is included, which represents the first Albanian photographic archive and documents the social, cultural and political life of the country from the 19th to the early 20th century. A visit to the museum helps to understand the role of Shkodra as an important artistic and documentary center.

In the afternoon, the itinerary continues towards Theth, a tourist village located in the heart of the Albanian Alps. The area is characterized by alpine nature, traditional architecture and mountain landscapes. The program includes a visit to the Theth Waterfall, the Theth Church and walks in traditional neighborhoods, offering a direct contact with alpine life and the surrounding nature. Accommodation and dinner are provided in traditional guesthouses, with local cuisine and local products.

After breakfast in Theth, departure is made towards the territory of the Greater Highlands, an area known for its alpine landscapes, mountain villages and preserved traditions. The visit to Lepushë offers a peaceful natural environment, surrounded by green valleys and high mountains, where visitors can enjoy easy walks and get acquainted with the alpine architecture and traditional way of life.

The journey continues towards Razëm, another mountain village known for its hospitality and beautiful nature, suitable for easy walks and panoramic stops. Lunch is served with traditional Alpine dishes, based on local products and traditional recipes of the area.

In the afternoon, the itinerary continues towards Vermoshi, the northernmost point of Albania, characterized by alpine meadows, traditional houses and a peaceful natural environment, ideal for relaxation and contact with nature.

The day concludes with an exploration of the Mirdita area, including Rrëshen as an administrative and commercial center, Oroshi as a historical and cultural center, Rubik with its architectural heritage, and Kaçinar, a mountain village with green landscapes and local hospitality. The itinerary concludes with accommodation and tasting of traditional products and characteristic foods of the area, reflecting the culinary and cultural identity of Mirdita.
