Pogradec has historically been involved in the cultivation of vineyards and various grape varieties and has produced brandy and wine with high technology.
The citizens of Pogradec have produced a variety of wines with rare craftsmanship and artisanal methods in the basements of their homes, turning them into wineries. This celebration highlights the ancient and current tradition of grape cultivation and processing.
The municipality today has as a priority the development of tourism and the recognition of tourist values even in the winter season, the wonderful snowy landscapes, the lake and the recognition of traditional Pogradec values. Wine has been considered a symbol with special characteristics and values for Pogradec. Now another element has been added to this celebration, such as chestnuts. Within the framework of this celebration, in addition to the artistic program, a competition is held for the best artisanal wine, the best winery, as well as a competition in the field of poetry and painting that focus on chestnut wine.
