The Historical Museum is a cultural heritage monument in the Vlora district which represents one of the main institutions of the city, reflecting the history of Vlora and its role in the Albanian national history. The Historical Museum of Vlora is located in the city center, in a very special building, which previously served for local government bodies and mass organizations.
This museum was established in 1962, in which hundreds of original objects are exhibited and preserved, which represent and reflect different historical periods, starting with antiquity and continuing with our days. In this museum, visitors can see archaeological objects belonging to various ancient cities in the Vlora district such as Oriku, Amantia, Ploce Olympia (Mavrovo) and further, Kionina (Kani). In the premises of this museum there are also original objects belonging to the medieval period. Among them, original documents for the city of Vlora, weapons, items of warriors known in history are included.
