The Zvërnec Monastery is one of the most important monuments of cultural and spiritual heritage in the Municipality of Vlora. Situated on a small picturesque island in Narta Lagoon, this monastery represents a rare combination of history, Byzantine architecture and unspoiled natural beauty.
This holy place dates back to the 13th century and is dedicated to Saint Mary. Its architecture is characterized by typical elements of medieval Orthodox churches, with partially preserved frescoes, as well as old religious objects.
What makes the Zvërnec Monastery unique is its location on a small island covered in pine trees, connected to the mainland by a wooden bridge that crosses the lagoon. Walking along this bridge offers a special experience for every visitor, as the nature is rich in biodiversity and constitutes a favorite destination for ecotourism and nature photography.
