Yogurt casserole with goat or lamb is one of the most popular dishes of traditional Albanian cuisine. The meat is used fresh, cut into pieces and lightly fried in oil or butter until golden brown. Once placed in the casserole, a mixture prepared with yogurt, eggs and a little flour is poured over it, which is mixed until it becomes uniform.
During baking, the meat softens and takes on the flavor of the yogurt, while the surface creates a golden and durable layer. The result is a casserole with a light, balanced and very pleasant taste, where the meat and the yogurt mixture complement each other perfectly.
