Now turned into a tradition, this festival has become the promoter of authentic Albanian cultural-artistic-gastronomic values, firstly, and secondly, the transmitter of Pogradec civic values in the Balkans and beyond.
Pogradec has been and will remain the Open Door for all Balkan artists, enabling the latter not only surprises in the bosom of nature, but also cultural exchange, the basis for creating bridges of friendship, understanding and mutual respect.
The festival promotes creativity and the best achievements of recent years in the field of cinematography. This festival makes it possible to exchange Balkan cultures and enrich the cultural and artistic life of the city of Pogradec.; This could also be the starting point for a possible co-production between Albania and other countries, as has happened in recent years between Kosovo, Greece, and Turkey. Over the course of 5 days, about 50 short and long films, animated and documentary, are screened.
There is a stronger focus on experimental film and documentaries. The participants are young people from different film schools. The topics of the documentaries touch on the history of minorities, on village life and how it is seen by young people. While the experimental film focuses on environmental issues, heritage, the individual. The feature films move from comedy to drama, social problems, human concerns in relationships with work, colleagues, society and family.
