Dibra is located in northeastern Albania on the border with North Macedonia. Its capital is the city of Peshkopia. Dibra is located on both sides of the Black Drin valley, bordered to the east by the Korab mountain range and to the west by the Lura mountain range, 185 km from the capital Tirana. Near Peshkopia is the highest mountain in Albania, Mount Korab with an altitude of 2,751 m above sea level, part of the Korab – Koritnik National Natural Park, one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in Albania.
Other destinations not to be missed in the Dibra region are: the Lura National Park and its glacial lakes as one of the most fabulous and picturesque landscapes, the banks of the Black Drini River with its enchanting valley and canyons, fantastic for adventure sports and rafting, the mountain and Bjeshka e Gramës known as the pearl of Dibra's tourist crown full of alpine forests and pastures, the village of Kërçisht near the natural balcony of Maqellara along with the cult monuments and the Grezhdan castle, the stone tourist village of Rabdisht, one of the 100 tourist villages of Albania, the Hinoska mountains, the Begjunec agro-tourism park, the museum dedicated to Skanderbeg and the Kastriot family, and the Dibra museum.
A special attraction in Debar is the curative and thermal waters of Peshkopia, located about two kilometers east of the city, and are one of the most sought-after health attractions. The water resources have helped in the economic development of the district, such as in energy, irrigation, fishing, or industry.

The Dibra district is an important handicraft, commercial and infrastructural center with potential as a tourist attraction in every season of the year.
