Sheqishte is known as a place with a rich religious and historical heritage, where there are several churches with interesting histories, which are not only a source of faith for the residents, but also tourist attractions with special cultural values. Among the most famous is the church of the “Metamorphosis of the Savior”, also known as the church of “Saint Sotir”, an early Christian cult object of great historical importance.
Equally important is the church of "Saint Mary", near which the first beginnings of the Albanian written language for the area are associated, dating back to 1908. The church of "The Dormition of the Virgin Mary" has a special educational value, as the first school in Sheqishte was opened in its premises.
Also, holy places such as “Ana Shën Llukaj”, “Shën Argjenda”, “Shën Prokopi”, “Shën Filipi” and “Shën Joni” are objects of paleochristian cult, while “Shën Marku” is an object of orthodox cult. All of these carry history, value and originality worth visiting.
