Kadiu Bridge, located on the picturesque banks of the Langaricë River in Përmet, is one of the most characteristic monuments of traditional Albanian architecture. Built of stone and with a single elegant arch, it represents the high craftsmanship of local builders and harmonizes naturally with the surrounding landscape.
The bridge dates back to the 18th century, around 1760–1770, during the Ottoman period. According to historical sources, it was built by order of a kadi (Ottoman judge), hence its name. The purpose of the construction was to facilitate crossing the Langaricë River and connect the areas around Përmet with trade routes and nearby villages.
Today, Kadiu Bridge is an important tourist attraction, serving as the gateway to the Langarica Canyon and the Benja thermal springs.
