The Shushicë River is one of the most important rivers in southern Albania, flowing mainly in the territory of the Municipality of Selenica and flowing into the Vjosa River near the coast of Vlora. It is characterized by crystal clear waters, fast-flowing in mountainous areas and a rich natural landscape along its entire course. The Shushicë Valley is known for the beauty of the greenery, dense trees and surrounding hills, which make the area attractive for hiking, nature walks and recreational activities. The river also has historical significance, as for centuries it has served as a water source for the surrounding villages and as a natural road axis that has connected the communities of the area. In addition to its natural value, the river and its surroundings are rich in cultural heritage elements, including historic bridges such as the Ura e Frengut and traditional settlements along its course.
