One of the true gems of the lake, Shurdhahu is an island surrounded by the blue waters of the Vau i Dejës, with the ruins of a medieval city known as Sarda. Sarda was an important center during the rule of the Dukagjini family. There you can see defensive walls, church foundations and ruins of ancient buildings. The view of the ancient walls over the water is one of the most fascinating views in all of northern Albania.
