Zvërnec Forest

The Zvërnec Forest is located in the western part of the Municipality of Vlorë, near the shores of the Narta Lagoon, and constitutes one of the most important protected natural areas in the region. This forest complex is mainly composed of Scots pine (Pinus pinea) and Scots pine (Pinus nigra), planted during the first half of the 20th century for environmental protection and the regeneration of the coastal ecosystem. The forest has an important ecological function, helping to stabilize sandy soil and preserve local biodiversity.

In addition to its environmental functions, the Zvërnec Forest is also a popular recreational destination for residents and visitors to the area. Within it are natural trails for walking, picnicking and outdoor activities. This natural attraction is located near the Monastery of St. Mary in Zvërnec, creating a harmonious combination of natural and cultural heritage. The area is part of a protected landscape and has high potential for the development of ecotourism.
